Utilizing crowdsourcing methodology akin to platforms like Wikipedia, CounterPoint enables users to participate in data collection that enhances community infrastructure planning. This approach ensures a broad and reliable dataset derived from diverse contributors.

The process is straightforward: identify a strategic location—such as a downtown café, bus stop, or street slated for bicycle lane improvements—and set up the CounterPoint app to begin counting. Observers can monitor traffic across the street while recording data seamlessly through the interface.

Users are encouraged to spread awareness among their networks. Increased participation results in more comprehensive data, which can be gathered quickly through collective effort or promoted via social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
